I am delighted to report that on May 10, 2024 – the ‘Day of Lasting Achievements’ in the Vedic Calendar [Akshaya Tritiya Day] – we inaugurated, and incorporated The Marma Therapy Academy.
Weirdly, I had been fretting over the name for months! In the end, the simplest option turned out to be the best – as is often the case. The name ‘The Marma Therapy Academy’ is similar to the website url: marmatherapy.org and to my Instagram address: marmatherapy
The purpose of the Marma Therapy Academy is to provide a legal framework for a global Marma Therapy organisation dedicated to making the knowledge and practical benefits of Sukshma Marma Therapy available throughout the world.
Marma Therapy is a technology rooted in Ayurveda that promotes physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Even more importantly, it reconnects the individual with their deepest Self – Atma. It was a wonderful German doctor, Dr Ernst Schrott, who developed the ‘Sukshma’ concept, on the basis of ancient Vedic knowledge and Ayurvedic texts, many years of study and research, as well as practical and clinical experience and oral Marma traditions.
The legal form is a non-profit structure known in the UK as a Company Limited by Guarantee.
What Will The Marma Therapy Academy Do?
The Academy will:
- Act as an information hub for Marma Therapy. It will provide information in person and online, respond to queries, and send newsletters.
- Provide workshops and courses on Marma Therapy to introduce interested persons to Marma Therapy.
- Provide training for new Sukshma Marma Therapists, as well as:
- CPD for existing therapists.
- Provide refresher workshops. Trained therapists will need to update their skills periodically.
- Publish a list of Qualified Marma Therapists. This will work as a promotional tool for their own practices and also provide potential clients with details of the Marma Therapist closest to them
- Invite experienced Marma Therapists to train as Marma Therapist trainers.
- Inform existing Members of new developments (such as, for example, the ‘Marmas of the Moon’ programme which was launched in February 2024)
- Eencourage scientific research to measure the effects of Sukshma Marma Therapy
- Provide Sukshma Marma Therapy trainers to other countries. It will also invite potential therapists from abroad to attend courses that are planned for the UK
- Establish a Vastu physical facility for treatments and courses.
I am also delighted to report that our first Marma Therapist trainees are about to complete their training. They are already reporting wonderful results in their case studies. Well done!
