Which Oil Should I Use for Which Marma of the Moon?

I was asked recently about the use of oils for our daily Marmas of the Moon practice (I get asked about the use of Essential Oils quite a lot). One person wrote:

“I used oil on the navel for the first time and noticed a profound difference. My navel still feels calm and relaxed.”

Which begs the question:

Why Would We Use Essential Oils?

For two reasons:  the first is lubrication – it helps the treating hand slide over the Marma; secondly, essential oils have known therapeutic qualities that support balance and health.  You can get more information about this at: https://marmatherapy.org/essential-oils-in-marma-therapy/.

So Which Essential Oil Should We Use for Which Marma?

Firstly, a few general points:

  • You can use the full range of oils listed if you wish, but you can also just use a few favourite oils / blends on the Marmas of the Moon.

And a couple of general aromatherapy principles:

  • Smell the oil before using it; if you like the aroma, that’s an indication that that oil will be helpful for you. Please be aware that this may change from one day to the next, so do smell the oil before using it every time.
  • Always dilute essential oils before applying to the skin – all the oils / oil blends listed below are already diluted, but you can dilute them further using, for example, a carrier oil such as almond oil.
